About Me

I am Arun CK, a Kannada typeface designer based in Bengaluru, India. I specialize in designing typefaces for Indian scripts, with a strong focus on Kannada typography, multi-weight families, and variable font systems.

I hold an M.Sc. in Graphics and Animation and have spent the last several years studying and practicing type design—working on glyph construction, spacing, OpenType features, and variable font architecture. My work is grounded in script research and aims to balance cultural authenticity with contemporary typographic needs.

I am currently developing an open-source Kannada typeface project, building a comprehensive glyph set and preparing the font for public release under an open font license. Alongside type design, I have a background in graphic design and visual communication.
